August Internal Squash Leagues

Hi Everyone

Well done to all players who managed to play some or all of their league games under the very hot conditions we experienced during July. The courts are quite warm at the best of times so the high outside temperatures raised the heat (and challenge) that little bit more!

Recently I've been made aware of a couple of things that I thought I would mention to you all. Firstly, please could I ask players to ensure that all game results are submitted onto the system before midnight of the last day of the month. The new leagues are always organised very soon after and they can only be based on the points that have been submitted. Any late result will not be included. Please note that I also add on two bonus points for players who play all of their games. These extra points don't show up on the system, but are used in my calculations for creating the new leagues.

I've also been made aware that a few players have not been responding to opponents who have tried to organise league games through emails, texting and whatsapp. I can appreciate the frustration this causes especially as the 'lost points' can affect your league position at the end of the month. Please could I ask players to ensure that their contact numbers and email addresses on the club's directory are up to date. Moving forward, please contact me if players don't respond to your attempts to organise games as I can always take this into consideration when organising the new leagues.Many thanks!

It's really pleasing that new members continue to join our leagues. A big welcome to Ian Butler who joined our leagues last month and this month Dave Peacock has returned to our leagues after a long (ten year?) sabbatical. Welcome back Dave!
